A yellow rectangle stands out against dark lawn turf when white blends into the fence behind it. We sew this small flag from nylon and stitch an open plastic tube into the left side. It slips over the top of a short yard pin and turns when the air moves across the grass.
Sewn tube insertThe hard plastic tube is stitched inside the hoist edge. It drops over the rod from the top and lets the yellow cloth swing freely without binding against the metal.
Plain yellow nylonNo numbers or print on the cloth. The solid yellow reads clearly across a short strip of turf, even in late afternoon light when shadows stretch across the green.
Double edge stitchingWe run two rows of thread along the fly edge and corners. The stitch holds the nylon flat when the wind snaps it through a long summer outdoors.
