Put a pin at the back fence and you need to see which way the air moves before you pull the putter. We sew these from heavy nylon cloth with double seams on the edges and slide an insert down the spine. The fabric catches the wind, swings clear of the rod, and stays readable.
Stitched outer hemTwo rows of nylon thread run along the open edge. That hem takes the snap when a gust comes across the lawn, so the cloth does not pull apart into raw strands.
Rigid inner sleeveAn open plastic tube sits inside the pole pocket. It slides down over the top stud and spins in place, so the flag does not wind itself into a tight knot on the pole.
