Put a real number on the pin and the yard starts reading like a course. We build these flags with an inner liner between two faces of heavy nylon, so the print stays dark when the sun sits directly behind the cup. They slide straight over the top of the pin.

Blackout center linerSunlight straight through thin nylon washes the numbers out. We sew a dark cloth layer inside the flag so the print reads clearly from the far side of the lawn, even at noon.

Two rows of stitchingWind works hard on the fly end of any flag. We run two lines of thread along the hem and around the outer border so the raw edge of the nylon does not fray into ribbons.

Hard insert sleeveThe sleeve on the hoist side contains a molded plastic tube. It slides over the top of the pin and spins freely around the fiberglass so the fabric does not wrap itself tight around the stick.

Double sided printWe print the numbers on both sides of the flag rather than letting ink bleed through from the front. The number sits upright whether you look from the tee or the fringe.
