Four pins give a back lawn an order to play in. We build these poles from yellow fiberglass in two sections, mount red numbered cloth on plastic tubes so the fabric turns with the breeze, and seat each stick into a base that lifts the golf ball out of the cup.

Two fiberglass sectionsEach yellow pole breaks down at a center joint. That keeps the stick straight in the ground while letting the parts pack flat in a shed or ride inside a vehicle without hanging out the back window.
Red numbered fabricThe red cloth runs numbers one through four in clear print. The flag slides onto a tube attached to the tip, turning on the pole so you see the target number from across the lawn.
Ball retriever discA disc sits at the base of the fiberglass rod. When a putt drops, lift the stick up by the grip and the plate brings the ball to the lip so you leave your putter in hand.
Molded plastic cupsThe cup seats into the dirt below the sod line. Drainage openings in the bottom let watering run straight through into the soil beneath rather than standing in the plastic cylinder between practice sessions.
