A complete hole setup fits in a single box for the yard green. The fiberglass pole sits down inside the cup and lifts back out when a putt drops. A small nylon flag turns on a hard plastic tube so you can point it back down the line of your putt.

Solid fiberglass poleWe build the short rod out of solid fiberglass. It bends slightly when you pull it from the grass and springs straight again, without splintering in your palm.

Ball lifting baseThe base below the stick sits under the ball when it drops. Lift the pole by the grip and the ball comes up to hand level, so you leave your putter resting on your shoe.

Rotating flag tubeThe nylon cloth is sewn onto a plastic sleeve that slides over the rod. Spin the tube by hand to set the cloth facing toward the back patio or down the longest putting line.

Complete yard cupThe plastic cup sinks into fresh dirt or a hole cut through artificial turf. Three drainage holes in the base let rain soak into the ground instead of standing around the pin.
