A shovel leaves a ragged crater that swallows whole cups and ruins the turf edge. We build this cutter with a carbon steel blade that bites down through root systems to pull a neat cylinder of earth. The soil ejector pushes the core out in one solid piece.

Carbon steel bladeThe round steel edge cuts through sod and roots without chewing the turf around the opening. You step down, twist the cylinder into the ground, and lift out a clean plug.

Detachable handle designThe handle unthreads from the main cylinder so the cutter packs down small on a shelf. It sits in a shed corner between spring setups without taking up vertical wall space.

Soil ejector platePush down on the center rod to force the dirt plug out of the steel chamber. The soil comes out in one intact piece, ready to drop into an old cup location.
