A solitary cup on a small patch of grass needs its own target. We built this short two-piece rod for the lone practice hole behind the garage, where pulling the pin should clear the ball in the same motion. It drops into a regulation cup and unscrews when the mower comes out.
Fiberglass rod sectionsThe two solid rods screw together with an aluminum joint in the middle. The fiberglass keeps its line without taking a set after weeks standing upright in the lawn.
Ball retrieval cupA molded base sits below the rod and catches the ball when it drops. Lift the whole stick by the middle and the ball comes up to hand level.
Water drainage holesDrain holes cut through the base floor let morning sprinkler water run out into the dirt below. Wet dirt drops away instead of packing into the cup bottom.
